Covid claims one more life, 70 more test positive in J&K | KNO

Tally reaches 127,114; death toll reaches 1963, Active cases around 900 in J&K, recovery rate around 98 percent

Srinagar, Mar 08 (KNO): Covid-19 on Monday claimed one more life in Jammu and Kashmir taking the toll of deaths related to Covid-19 to 1,963 while 70 fresh positive cases were reported taking tally of positive cases to 127,114. Of the exact number of 127,114 cases, 75,001 are from Kashmir and 52,113 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 70 new cases, 59 belong to Kashmir division while as 11 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 75,001 including 73,072 recoveries and 1,235 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 52,113 including 51,208 recoveries and 728 deaths. The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 871 including 694 from Kashmir division and 177 from Jammu division. With 90 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 124,280 which is 97.77 percent of the total cases. “Cases tested positive in J&K include 33 from Srinagar, 06 from Baramulla, 05 from Budgam, 07 from Pulwama, 01 from Kupwara, 04 from Anantnag, 01 from Bandipora, 02 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 11 from Jammu division include 11 from Jammu, 00 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi," officials disclosed. As per officials figures, 27,323 positive cases including 462 deaths and 26,460 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,333 including 175 deaths and 8,077 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,931 including 7,763 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Budgam, 5,892 including 5,759 recoveries and 90 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,701 including 97 deaths and 5,588 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,062 including 4,935 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,722 cases including 4,647 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,680 including 4,619 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,743 including 2,670 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,614 including 2,554 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian. In Jammu division, 25,324 including 24,813 recoveries and 376 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,319 including 4,245 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,876 including 3,821 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,438 including 3,374 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,266 including 3,207 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,841 including 2,794 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Samba, 2,738 including 2,714 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,527 including 2,496 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,135 including 2,114 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,649 including 1,630 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi. As per the daily information bulletin 1,355,337 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 31,944 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 871 persons are in isolation. According to the bulletin, 1,209,086 persons have completed surveillance period and 111,473 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 5,411,801 samples are available. Out of 5,411,801 the number of samples tested negative stands at 5,284,687 while as 127,114 have tested positive, among them 871 persons are active, 124,280 persons have recovered and 1,963 persons have died—(KNO)
